Nursing has always been a noble profession that requires continuous education, skill, compassion, patience, and stamina. But over the past two years, the contributions of nurses were underscored with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the impact of the virus on patients and healthcare systems began to manifest, nurses found themselves in situations they’d never seen before. They have been caring for patients whose families could not be with them, working long hours with limited access to personal protective equipment, and pivoting with the ever-evolving guidance on how to care for patients with the virus. These men and women who devote their lives to caring for others, put themselves at significant risk on a daily basis, to fight for their patients’ well-being.
Help us honor them. Let them know they are truly appreciated by donating $100 in recognition of the nurse of your choice. They will receive a special acknowledgement at our Honor a Nurse event in May, held during Nurses Week.
Funds raised will support the Mathewson-Bonser Nursing Scholarship Fund, assisting aspiring or current nurses to further their education and upgrade their healthcare skills, ensuring continued quality care in our area for years to come.
