The Marshall Foundation for Community Health’s sold-out Bob West Drive for Marshall Golf Tournament was held under beautiful skies on Friday, June 20 at Placerville’s Cold Springs Golf and Country Club. The event raised more than $209,000.
New to the 42nd annual tournament this year was a breathtaking ball drop from El Dorado County Sheriff Jeff Leikauf’s Echo One helicopter sponsored by Motherlode Rock n Ready. At the conclusion of the tournament, 800 balls were dropped from Echo One, each having been purchased by a donor in advance. Balls belonging to Bob Gillett, Jens Arild, Keith Wills and Mike Thomas landed in the hole, and the four split the $3,000 prize. The new addition to the event provided nearly $15,000 in funding!
This year’s Fund-A-Need raised more than $20,000 to support the purchase of a ZeroG 3D system for the new El Dorado Hills physical therapy clinic. ZeroG 3D is a robotic body-weight support system that safely allows walking, functional activities, balance and fall prevention training in a ‘reduced gravity’ environment.
The winners of this year’s tournament were:
Net Champions (handicap): Brian Bogaard, Lynda Vernon, Jeff Vernon, and Parker Boulter
Gross Champions (nonhandicap): Phil Westphal, Eric Shaw, Wes Carson, and Cooper Westphal
