Generosity at Work

Investing in Our Own: the Mathewson-Bonser Nursing Scholarships

This September, the Marshall Foundation for Community Health (MFCH) proudly awarded $25,000 in Mathewson-Bonser Nursing Scholarships to 24 Marshall employees who are continuing or advancing their nursing education. Each of these recipients represents the dedication, compassion, and excellence that define our care at Marshall.

The Mathewson-Bonser Nursing Scholarship Fund was established in 1990 by Marshall providers Dr. John Mathewson and Dr. Quentin Bonser, who wanted to help Marshall nurses continue their education and grow in their careers. Thanks to the ongoing generosity of our community, this fund now supports Marshall employees pursuing advanced nursing degrees and certifications, helping them expand their skills and bring even greater care and compassion to their patients every day. Investing in our nurses is investing in the heart of Marshall.

Marshall is built by the community and for the community and is powered by the community. These scholarships exemplify how generosity and teamwork combine to create meaningful change. Through donations to MFCH, we lift one another up, open doors for education, and strengthen the quality of care that defines Marshall.
