Millennials and Philanthropy

Thursday, March 30, 2017

11:30-1:30 PM

The Sequoia Restaurant, 643 Bee Street, Placerville

This luncheon is brought to you by AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) – El Dorado County Extension in partnership with Marshall Foundation for Community Health and The Nonprofit Partnership.

Millennials and Philanthropy

Reaching Millennials is imperative to any nonprofit organization that is interested in building up the next generation of donors.  In fact, last year 60% of Millennials donated an average of $481 per year to up to 3 different charities of their choice, and in total 83% of Millennials made a financial gift to an organization or institution.  Yet reaching and then keeping their attention (and dollars) is much different than with any other philanthropic generation.  Simply put – what you’ve done in the past doesn’t work; and guessing at what to do is not the right approach either.

Benefits of Attending:

  • This workshop will outline how to inspire, connect and engage with Millennials and provide practical steps that will guide you on your way to successful Millennial engagement.
  • You’ll also learn how to drop catchy phrases like “supportive activism” and “maintaining sustainability” casually into your every day conversation. What could be better than that?

Speaker Gordon Fowler, is the President/CEO of 3fold Communications where he dreams, points and steers the 3fold team.

As a strategic marketing and business solutions firm, 3fold works with bold brands looking to grow, diversity and enhance their programs, products and services with both internal and external audiences.  Since its founding in 2004, Fowler has grown the company into an award winning, multi-million dollar agency while also focused on driving the company towards its mission of “contributing to thriving communities.”

In 2016, this vision led 3fold to open The Glue Factory, an innovative incubator space focused on building community-based entrepreneurs, as well as take over the leadership of the Impact Foundry (formerly the Nonprofit Resource Center), an association of, and resource for nonprofits serving the 29 counties in Northern California.
